Chris is the founder and owner of African Explorer, a travel and safari business he established in 2009. The business operates from offices in Pretoria and Buenos Aires, assisting international travellers with personalised African safari holidays and adventure travel experiences.

Born and bred in South Africa, Chris has spent decades exploring the region; he has lived in Namibia, Mozambique, the United Kingdom, and Ireland — experiences that have shaped his deep appreciation for diverse cultures, landscapes, and adventure travel.

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in the tourism industry, Chris specialises in creating tailored safari holidays, self-drive expeditions, and authentic African travel experiences. He has a lifelong passion for the African bush, wildlife, remote travel, and motorcycle adventures across Southern Africa.

After attending the University of Pretoria, Chris completed his military service before building a career centred around tourism and adventure travel. In addition to his tourism expertise, he is a qualified CMAS Scuba Diving Instructor and a PADI Dive Master, combining his passion for exploration both on land and underwater.

Chris has also travelled through parts of the United States, Asia and Europe, further enriching his international travel knowledge and understanding of what modern travellers seek when visiting Africa. His practical experience, local insight, and personalised approach ensure every journey with African Explorer is memorable, authentic, and carefully designed around each client’s travel style and expectations.
